Valérie Hurst

About

Bonjour! I’m Valérie, a native French speaker and fully qualified teacher based in York, UK. I have over 25 years of teaching experience, including six years teaching online, and currently teach at King’s InterHigh. I specialise in IB French B HL/SL and Ab Initio. Having written a complete two-year IB French B course, I understand how to develop students’ skills throughout the programme and prepare them for Paper 1, Paper 2 and the Individual Oral. I also offer A-level, GCSE/IGCSE, DELF A2/B1 and adult French tuition, including conversation. My lessons are friendly, supportive and structured, using authentic materials and interactive activities to build confidence. Each session is tailored to your level, course and goals, with optional homework and constructive feedback. All lessons are online and students worldwide are welcome. Individual lessons last 50 minutes: £70 for IB and A-level, or £60 for other courses. Materials and optional homework feedback are included. Visit my website to check availability and book through Calendly, including a free 15-minute introductory consultation: https://valériehursttutoring.com/

I use authentic French materials, interactive activities, clear explanations and constructive feedback to develop speaking, listening, reading and writing. Optional homework reinforces learning between lessons. For IB students, we also work on exam technique and preparation for Paper 1, Paper 2 and the Individual Oral.
